Department Overview

Electric Asset Management (EAM) is responsible for the electric system quality, engineering and planning, asset quality strategy, and risk management across transmission, distribution, and substation asset families. This centralized, risk-informed approach allows PG&E to manage electric risk, asset and system health, interconnections, and performance by using consistent standards, work methods, prioritization, and program sponsorship, while leveraging lessons learned from inspections and asset data to inform asset management decisions. Accountable for asset planning and strategy, standards and work methods, and asset data management for Electric Engineering and Operation.

Position Summary

The EAM ADMI Administration Control & Quality Review Program Intern position will learn and provide important support the following critical activities for public safety and compliance under Asset Data Management & Improvement (ADMI) - Risk Management, Governance, Quality Planning, Quality Management System (QMS), Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Problem Solving, Audit and Training & Development. Utilizing PG&E Lean Playbook, quality engineering principles, and ISO 55001/9001 standard, this position supports and collaborates to improve data quality and data integrity of asset registry and operational quality/efficiency to fully satisfy safety/regulatory requirements and internal and external customers’ requirements.

A talented intern to help support developing and completing ADMI QMS in the areas of standardization and Quality Review Program:

* Develop/write documents such as standard, procedure, job aid, etc. for un-documented processes.

* Conduct process mapping with the process owners to develop standards.

* Develop process flow charts to be a part of the standardized documents.

* Engage and manage documents approval process in support of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

* Review and update existing standards as applicable.

* Develop checklists for Quality Review Program (QRP) or internal audit.

* Create Quality Review (Audit) reports under the direction of QRP program manager.

* Verify and validate the standards related with data science process such as programs, scripts, automated tools, codes for their job instruction, data output accuracy, traceability and version control.

* Support problem solving related with document control or audits.

* Other duties and assignments not limited to the above.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $18.43 to $29.81

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• Earning a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Science or related fields.

• Students must be continuing education towards degree during and/or after the internship.

• Must have a valid driver’s license or obtain one at least 30 days prior to start date.

Desired:

• 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA.

• Previous experience of developing process documentation and audit reports.

• Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members.

• Experience in data science: Power App, Power BI, Python, SAP, GIS (Geographic Info. System) etc.

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written Internal

• Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction for customer focused.
