Position Summary
The Construction Manager leads initiatives across the Vegetation Management Construction Management organization. This individual will provide oversight and guidance across various initiatives across the organization. The Construction Manager will enhance Contractor relationships to drive collaboration and improve processes by leveraging metrics and reporting. In addition, this position will support internal and contracted staff in meeting operational goals, coordinating with teams to complete projects, collaborating on more significant organizational priorities, and conducting project tracking/monitoring to ensure success.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company, in good faith, believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, particular skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $120,000
California Maximum: $190,000
- This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
- This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. The headquarters location is flexible within the PG&E service territory.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a subject matter expert and thought leader and applies extensive unique expertise.
- Works autonomously, applying unique subject matter expertise to solve complex problems, anticipates issues, and develops innovative solutions.
- Interacts with senior management to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Monitors activities and ensures projects meet the program’s safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals.
- Partners with Sourcing, Safety, and Contract Management to ensure contracts and records comply.
- Maintains relationships across the team to ensure project details are communicated to stakeholders.
- Collaborates directly with Suppliers to drive collaboration and identify ways to improve partnerships.
- Oversee the process of ensuring proper onboarding of Suppliers through qualification/compliance reviews and annual safety plans.
- Drives process improvements and oversees metrics and reporting within the VM Construction Management team.
- Attends meetings and represents the CM organization effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides mentoring and training to Associate, Career, and Senior level employees
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7 years of experience in the field of Industrial engineering or Construction
Desired:
- 9 years of working experience in Industrial Engineering or Construction.
- Established educational foundation, including a degree in natural resource management, agriculture, environmental sciences, forestry, or related fields.
- Vegetation Management background and knowledge of processes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a constantly evolving environment.
- Demonstrated abilities in Cost Accounting / Inspection / Contract Administration.
- Ability to work under stress from demanding deadlines, public contact, and changing priorities and conditions.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience with the ability to lead training and coach teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to assume responsibility.
- Ability to perform cost and project scheduling.
- Ability to understand and interpret work procedures, process documentation, work methods, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Demonstrates skill in achieving cooperation from others to achieve a goal.
- Knowledge of California and Federal regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of ANZI Z133 Standards
