Department Overview

The Energy Supply IT organization is responsible for Development, Maintenance, and Operations of Applications which support Energy Supply Lines of Business such as Power Generation, Energy Procurement, Nuclear Generation, and Risk Management.

Position Summary

This is a customer facing position providing technical support to 20+ users for the eStar application (business application). This position is responsible for the first line of support in all areas of Energy Procurement covered by the application (contracts modelling, contract management, contract settlements).

In addition to an understanding of the business processes involved in all lines of business covered by the application, a technical background is required to understand the technical aspect of the application as well as the design and implementation of the customized functionality. This technical aspect of the position is key for troubleshooting issues and for leading maintenance activities that are also included in this position.

The responsibilities are such that presence in the office is mostly required and after-hour activities (maintenance/outage) are to be expected on a regular basis.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $109,000.00

Bay Area Mid-point: $142,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $175,000.00

&/OR​

California Minimum: $104,000.00

California Mid-point: $135,000.00

California Maximum: $166,000.00

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Responsibilities

  • Client Consulting: Ability to work in a team environment; develop, build and maintain positive rapport with our team members, business clients, and IT partners

  • Documentation: Work with team members to develop deployment guides, Run-books, Play-books, etc.

  • Ability to quickly identify issues, take ownership, and problem solve

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills

  • Strong customer service skills to ensure all requests and problems are resolved in a professional manner as required

  • Excellent planning, organizational skills; detail and process-oriented; able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Hybrid position, must be able to work on location (General Office) at least 1 day a week

  • Must be available after hour and on weekend as needed for maintenance activities

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related field.

  • 5 or more years of experience in programming/systems analysis or business analysis.

  • Experience modelling complex financial transactions, specifically gas and electric contracts using a Calculation Engine tool such as PG&E’s eStar or equivalent tool.

  • Experience with Java, .NET C#, SQL, WebLogic, JavaScript, Excel formulas, Postman, SOAP and RESTFUL webservices.

Desired:

  • ReactJS, Bootstrap, NodeJS/NPM, Ant, maven, git, SOAPUI

  • Familiarity with complex data structures like hashes, binary trees, tree maps, and linked lists.
