The Supply Chain Organization includes a staff of more than 650 sourcing managers, buyers, analysts, materials planners, supplier diversity, and warehouse personnel. Our mission is to deliver cost effective and valued supply chain services through strategic, diverse, and sustainable business solutions. Our work requires close integration with all lines of business, finance, and our suppliers. 

Position Summary

The Senior Manger of Business Strategy will lead Supply Chain’s Procure to Pay (P2P) re-design initiative and oversee the P2P PMO.  In this role you will be responsible for leading the transformation initiatives that will move PG&E’s Procure to Pay Process towards a standardized, integrated, compliant and easy to use process that provides value to all business partners and suppliers with timely visibility into spend enabling PG&E to deliver to our hometowns safely, timely and affordably.

We are looking for a candidate that, is skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, challenging but highly rewarding environment, has good judgment and strong analytical, and negotiation skills, is self-motivated, and, most importantly, is an optimistic, curious, and collaborative team player. Our candidate must also be focused on delivering solutions and process efficiencies for the Procure to Pay process, through problem solving partnership with leaders and stakeholders

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

A reasonable salary range is:​

California Minimum: $151,000

California Maximum:$257,000

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Unite Sourcing Team and stakeholders around a single, shared vision of transformation that results in best-in-class performance.
  • Lead development of process and implementation of technology that aligns with business needs of Enterprise
  • Implement thoughtful and controlled change management that results in a high level of user adoption and satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts across the Company to develop and manage the execution plans for key strategic initiatives.
  • Engages with Officers of the company, VP’s, and Directors/Sr. Directors on complex cross-functional programs
  • Partners with the Director to both assist and drive individual strategies and efforts and assemble cross-matrixed teams from across the organization to effectuate the strategy development and implementation.
  • Works with the Director and Vice President to implement a long term, sustainable, and flexible Strategy program management office (PMO).
  • Focuses on the near-term deliverables as well as the longer-term strategy horizon as the energy and utility industry goes through transformative shifts.
  • Leads positive change for California, our customers, and the utility.
  • Leads staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, trainingand development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Desired

  • Have a deep understanding of procurement, sourcing, contracting, and Enterprise procurement needs
  • Ability to interact with C-Suite executives and successfully build relationships and work at all levels of the Enterprise
  • In-depth knowledge of technical and professional concepts related to strategy and planning
  • Skilled in negotiations and influencing others
  • Knowledge of process improvement and driving change
  • Ability to synthesize complex information – both quantitative and qualitative, and deliver impactful presentations to influence change
  • Ability to influence and build relationships, especially on cross-functional teams
  • Project management, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex findings in a structured and clear manner to a non-technical audience

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or comparable quantitative field or equivalent related work experience
  • 10 years of sourcing, contract management or related experience

Desired:

  • Master's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or equivalent quantitative field
  • Demonstrated in–depth experience in more than one of the following: gas transmission and distribution operations, nuclear, power generation, electric transmission and /or distribution, power systems/ information technology, energy procurement, energy efficiency, renewables energy
  • Utility, energy or regulatory industry experience
  • Demonstrated in–depth experience in more than one of the following: gas transmission and distribution operations, nuclear, power generation, electric transmission and /or distribution, power systems/ information technology, energy procurement, energy efficiency, renewables energy
  • Consulting experience
  • Project and/or program/portfolio management experience
  • Program governance experience including establishing program dashboards, key performance health indicators
  • Experience leading and facilitating large cross-functional and cross-matrixed teams
