Diablo Canyon Power Plant's Procurement Services Department is responsible for providing all goods and services for the Plant, while focusing on safety, customer service and cost management.
This is an IBEW Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.
The materials handler will support the receipt, storage, and issuing of all materials for the Plant and is expected to follow all Plant procedures and standards.
To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP), you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
-Maintain an absolute commitment to safety and work safely at all times
-Receive, pick, stock and deliver material by hand or with use of equipment
-Responsible for in-storage maintenance, material searches and return to stock
-Perform duties using various Material Handling equipment including forklifts, stock pickers and other necessary equipment and tools
-Use computer to complete administrative tasks
-Stack and un-stack materials while working at various heights
-Work in environments including inclement weather and emergency conditions
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
-Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
-Ability to work in all types of weather extremes
-Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
-Ability to work at varying level of heights
-Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime (scheduled or ad hoc)
-Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
-Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds a minimum of one time a day
-Work experience in warehouse or shipping environment
-Class B driver’s license
-Live within 50 miles of warehouse
-Demonstrated experience using Enhanced Warehouse Management (EWM) software
-Demonstrated experience using SAP
-Certified to operate a forklift
-Previous Diablo Canyon Power Plant experience
