Position Summary

The Business Analyst, Expert, will manage the project portfolio for the T&D Business Applications organization. The role is responsible for Technical Project Management, supporting application development, operational technology support (Control Center tools), and producing high quality deliverables that meet or exceed targets. The incumbent will also be provided opportunities to develop in other areas such as business process improvement, finance, emerging technology, and other initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BS/BA in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 6 years of relevant work experience

Desired:

  • PMP Certification from the PMI
  • Advanced technical project management skills to lead/guide complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making
  • Extensive knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills - ability to listen, recognize non-verbal communication and ask questions

  • Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Experience within any area of Electric Operations in the electric utility industry
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, or similar software

Responsibilities

  • Project management - effectively structure and control work on a project; integrate all aspects, ensure that work progresses on schedule and that work meets specification or required standard
  • Operational Monitoring & Analysis - Efficiently and accurately perform monitoring and analysis functions for ongoing projects and work efforts; review current work practices for operational efficiencies and deficiencies and provide feedback, follow-up, and recommendations for improvement to appropriate parties
  • Information Analysis - Break down information into components, identify underlying principles or facts, and recognize interrelationships; show insight into the root-causes of problems or issues
  • Support organization by providing technical support and solutioning
  • Perform feasibility analysis, develop project scope, and provide recommendations for alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization
  • Participate on teams that develop technical solutions for the customer
  • May perform various additional activities, such as user-based application testing, scope presentations, user support, etc.
  • Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
  • Work with the Sourcing department, the SMEs, and the leadership, to execute RFPs and vendor selection
