Position Summary

Ensures the availability, integrity, and reliability of assigned systems such as Transnet and Orbit radio systems, FAN (Field Area Network), RF Engineering and EMS ADMS. Provides technical support of an IT infrastructure or operations product line, enterprise platform and/or technology service. Provides operational support to monitor, analyze, diagnose, and resolve problems in the RF environment.

Provides consulting and advisory tasks to engineering, planning, and clients. Tests new technologies in a lab environment. Participates in design reviews on new deployments. Partners with product specialists and technical architects to make recommendations for new or retired technology products & systems.  Work with all vendors on new product development.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides 3rd tier support in analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving complex problems related to RF systems such as Electric, GAS, Hydro SCADA Orbit radio, FAN mesh networks, EMS and ADMS systems along with wireless cellular modems for SCADA technologies.
• Assists in consulting and guidance during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT, Electric, Gas, HYDRO SCADA projects.
• Provides consulting and guidance during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT, Electric, Gas, HYDRO SCADA projects.
• Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.
• Oversees the high-profile technical support and administration of critical systems.
• Identifies and applies remediation strategies to mitigate IT service gaps.
• Oversees the creation, revision, and maintenance of all work procedures and standards.
• SME in all compliance efforts required of Radio IT assets.
• Strong skills with RF tools such as Spectrum Analyzer, Remote Terminal Units, etc.
• Ensures system health and availability of the systems.
• Performs advanced operations, management, and maintenance support of network and telecommunication systems, linked systems, and peripherals in order to enhance network operations.
• Develops and implements training.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience in IT-Information Technology, 6 years.
• Works in 24 hours per day-7 days per week environment.
• Ability to travel using personal vehicle.

Desired:

• Experience in IT-Information Technology production, 8 years
• 5 Years SCADA experience.
• Strong RF background.
• IT-Information Technology Product certification, for example CCIE, CCAr, MCSE, MCSM, RHCA, RHCE
