Department Overview

The Contract Administration, Reporting & Governance team provides contract administration support for Gas Operations, Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant and Customer facing programs, and Electric Operations. In addition to processing invoices, ensuring costs are booked accurately and paying our contractors in a timely manner, these teams also serve as liaisons with our Functional Areas, Suppliers, Sourcing and Finance organizations. The Governance & Reporting team is responsible for Contractor Execution Scorecards, infusing the Enterprise with a broad understanding of financial/budget management via reports, training and creating short financial acumen videos. Together, these teams act as the nexus between our field operations and the enterprise teams/systems.

Position Summary

Contract Lifecycle Managers play an important role in supporting all aspects of the contract lifecycle, which includes involvement in contract development, solicitation, negotiation, amendments, valuation, operational implementation, settlement, dispute resolution, administration and termination. These employees manage major contracts for ALL of Generation, including Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP), Power Generation, to ensure contract compliance. Serving as subject matter experts on assigned contracts, they coordinate legal, line of business and supply chain reviews as necessary, and build and maintain relationships with critical supplier representatives. These employees assist in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process by providing input on work scope, evaluating bids and helping to negotiate contract terms for the acquisition of services. 

Successful candidate must be able to report to Diablo Canyon Power Plant within 90 minutes. 

To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening. 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $76,000
California Maximum: $114,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Uses advanced problem-solving skills
  • Manages a portfolio of contracts through all stages of the contract lifecycle
  • Manages disputes and settlements with internal customers with support from Supervision
  • Works independently, with limited supervision or guidance
  • Participates on project teams, may lead smaller projects
  • Takes ownership of Contractor relationship including with disputes and proactively moves towards resolution
  • Subject matter expert on their managed contracts
  • Builds effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide reports to management for Contract or issue management 
  • Ensures costs and invoices are properly handled per contract terms 
  • May initiate and lead basic process improvement efforts 
  • May initiate disputes with Contractor on contract 
  • May support the contract oversight managers to enforce compliance of Contractor Safety Program requirements within the line of business work scopes 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related degree; or equivalent work experience 
  • Two years of related work experience 

Desired:

  • Possess strong written and verbal skills with the ability to tailor communications to specific audiences 
  • Possesses and demonstrates a full working knowledge of the contract management lifecycle 
  • Proficient in computer software to complete calculations and presentations: SAP, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc. 
  • Has full knowledge of contracts and assists with development of basic team processes and protocols 
  • Understands basic contract interpretation, assists in managing Contractor relationships and helps develop internal processes 
  • Knowledge and experience in contract negotiations 
  • Understanding of regulatory processes 
  • Understanding of settlement and billing processes 
  • Familiarity with PG&E Contractor Safety Program
  • Be familiar with existing DCPP and Power Generation managed contracts 
  • Has basic knowledge of the DCPP and Power Generation organizations and associated plant and company systems
