Our Culture of Safety

Nothing is more important to us than safety. We are driven by our responsibility to the public and to our workforce – including the recognition that every single PG&E employee is a public safety leader. We’re continually working to meet challenges head-on, invest in cutting-edge technologies and do extraordinary things to protect California’s power system.

In 2018, we opened our Wildfire Safety Operations Center to monitor and assess fire-related threats throughout our service territory. Since then, the center has expanded its reach and currently monitors debris flows, mud/dirt/rock slides and earthquakes in addition to wildfire threats. Renamed the Hazard Awareness & Warning Center, it is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and demonstrates our commitment to improving and protecting our communities, customers, employees and infrastructure.

Part of the Community

The 16 million people who rely on PG&E are more than our customers. They are our neighbors, our friends and local business owners. PG&E’s people are passionate about giving back to the communities where we live and work. In fact, in 2019 alone, PG&E employees volunteered more than 75,000 hours in a range of charitable efforts across Northern and Central California. And although 2020 kept us from participating in person, we still made an impact by expanding our workforce giving campaign with the Company matching up to $1,000 of employee contributions donated to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations.

Welcoming and Supporting

At PG&E, we recognize the importance of creating a culture where diversity, equity and inclusion are valued principles in how we do business. Whether it’s our Employee Resource Groups, our long-standing commitment to hiring veterans and individuals with disabilities or our support of the LGBTQ community, our actions reflect the value we place on embracing unique perspectives.

I’m a current PG&E employee. How should I apply for a new role?

As an internal employee, it’s best if you apply through PG&E@Work For Me instead of the external career site. Using your PG&E-issued computer, log in to PG&E@Work For Me, go to About Me, select iConnect, then click Home and choose Careers to search and apply for internal job openings.

How do I submit an application if I’m not a PG&E employee?

Start by creating a Candidate Profile at www.jobs.pge.com. Click Create Account/Sign In at the top of the homepage. Once your profile is set up, you can apply for jobs and upload your resume directly through the site.

Tips for creating your Candidate Profile

  • Password: 2–18 characters, no spaces or Unicode.
  • Use LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter to help complete your profile.
  • Accepted attachment file types: DOCX, PDF, CSV, TXT, and images (no MSG, PPT, or XLS). There is no file size limit.
  • Your profile stays the same unless you update it. Recruiters see only your current version.

How will I know the status of my application?

You’ll receive email notifications as your application progresses through each stage of the hiring process. You’re also welcome to log in to your Candidate Profile at any time to view the current status.

What does it mean if I receive a disqualification notice?

It means your application wasn’t selected to move forward, often because it didn’t meet the minimum qualifications. We know this can be disappointing, and while we’re unable to provide individual feedback, we hope the tips below help you strengthen future applications.

How can I make the best impression when applying for a job?

Consider these tips to make your application stand out:

  • Review qualifications carefully. Each job posting outlines both minimum and desired qualifications. Be sure your resume clearly demonstrates how your experience aligns, especially with the minimum requirements.
  • Apply with intention. Focus on roles that closely match your skills, background, and career goals. A targeted approach is often more effective than applying broadly.
  • Make your application stand out. Many roles receive a high volume of applicants. Tailoring your resume and preparing thoughtfully can help you stand out in a competitive pool.

How can I sign up for job alerts?

You can set up personalized job alerts directly from your Talent Profile. Alerts are based on the criteria you choose such as location, job type, or keywords, and will notify you when new opportunities match your preferences. While there’s no limit to the number of alerts you can create, we recommend focusing on roles that align with your experience and interests. Each alert remains active for six months, and you’ll be notified when it’s time to renew or update it.

How do I reset my talent profile password if I forget it?

Visit www.jobs.pge.com and click on Create Account/Sign In. Then select Forgot Your Password? to receive an email with instructions to reset your password.
