Department Overview

The team of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.  Service Planning and Design (SP&D) organization within Gas Engineering delivers all gas and electric new connections and existing service changes by directly engaging with PG&E customers and coordinating with multiple PG&E departments from Initiation through Meter Set.  In addition, SP&D enables execution of all PG&E electric distribution system work by providing project designs and costs. 

The company’s Service Planning and Design organization (SP&D) supports the business vision by delivering customers safe, reliable, and affordable electric and gas services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and internal requirements. SP&D supports both gas and electric operations through its customer project management, design and estimating functions.

Position Summary

Manages aspects of program implementation and operations.  Ensures program is operating effectively.  Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following in support of Program Management to ensure attainment of program metrics/objectives.

•             Managing relationship with and providing direction to vendor(s)

•             Developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts

•             Developing, measuring and reporting on success of the program  

•             Partnering with the Marketing organization, vendors and external partners to develop and implement strategies to reach appropriate customer audience at the appropriate time

•             Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners

•             Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators.

•             Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E    

•             Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures

•             Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels 

The successful candidate will function as the Service Planning and Estimating Expert for development and delivery of training and developmental opportunities for Service Planning & Design processes and tools.  The incumbent will have expert knowledge of both New Business and Estimating processes and is acquainted with the use of tools such as the Estimating Portal, EES, and O-Calc. The incumbent will also possess an understanding of relevant tariffs and regulations, including Rules 2, 15, 16, 20, and 21.  The incumbent will deliver training and user support through oral and written communications and may be involved in developing and defining Service Planning and Estimating processes and/or requirements via collaboration with Subject Matter Experts on various technical issues. The incumbent may also be responsible for leading and supporting projects and initiatives designed to improve existing business processes.  

Position will require up to approximately 15% of travel time in work schedule.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (Dublin, CA).

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum:$122,000

Bay Area Maximum:$194,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Qualifications-

Minimum Qualifications: 

•             Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in business

•             8 years of related experience or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • PMP Certification
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  Desired
  •               Advanced knowledge of Program Management
  •               Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights and recommendations
  •              Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  •              Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  •              Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
  •              Excellent negotiation skills.
  •             Leadership experience
  •             Service Planner experience
  •             Estimator experience or equivalent knowledge of estimating development and approval processes
  •             Working knowledge of new business tariffs and gas and electric rules 2, 15, 16, 20, and 21
  •             Knowledge of gas and electric distribution construction practices
  •             Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
