The Finance Governance & Analytics team serves as the strategic partner across Business Finance, their Line of Business partner teams, and the broader Finance organization to drive analytical and process governance standards and reporting. Position Summary

This role will join the Finance Reporting and Governance team within Finance Governance & Analytics, which provides data-driven analysis to drive decision making, enterprise-wide financial guidance, and budget governance. You will routinely work with the key stakeholders across the enterprise to develop and enhance Power BI dashboards focused on financial reports and analysis for both optimized standard operational performance and special projects. You will also have the rare opportunity to gain exposure to and help create the L1 Financial Package reviewed by the CEO and all other Officers at PG&E each month to understand Enterprise Performance and drive key decision-making.

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office, 0-4 days monthly, on average, or based on business needs or company requirements.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $114,000

Bay Area Maximum: $182,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, including those used across all functional areas of the Enterprise.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Finance Reporting and Governance to create the L1 Financial Package for review by the CEO and all other Officers
  • Drive process improvements, including root causes analyses as needed.
  • Lead, support, and provide advice on the following major financial endeavors:  Finance True North Reporting and Transparent Regulatory Financial Reporting
  • Partner with leaders across the Enterprise to drive high performance and execute business goals and priorities via special projects.
  • Act as a consultant to Business Finance leaders and analysts on analytics, modeling, and data management/visualization tools.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships within Finance and across Functional Areas aimed at identifying and understanding the business needs and providing strategic tools and guidance.
  • Drive standardization of financial reporting, analytics, and modeling across the Enterprise.
  • Support the GRC application filing, Annual Risk Spending Accountability Report and other ad hoc regulatory related requests.
  • Understand the financial system at PG&E to help govern and troubleshoot budget transfer and master data related issues.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience or training
  • 5 years of related work experience

Desired:

  • Proficiency and proven experience with Power BI or equivalent product
  • Proficiency and proven experience with Analysis for Office or equivalent product
  • Proficiency and proven experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, SAP BW, SAP BPC
  • Ability to execute tactically as well strategically brainstorm solutions
  • Exceptional time management skills to deal with tight deadlines
  • Successful track record of working collaboratively with teams
  • Understanding of Utility Accounting fundamentals and the PG&E cost model to consult on program issues
  • 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years leading directly or indirectly
  • MBA or CPA
