Department Overview

The General Counsel and Ethics, Risk & Compliance organization includes PG&E’s Law Department responsible for providing high-quality, cost-effective legal support to solve problems, meet business objects, identify and mitigate risks, strengthen compliance and improve the company.  The Ethics, Risk & Compliance teams promote a culture that enables employees to act with integrity, speak up to raise concerns, manage records and information, and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. 


The Performance Improvement and Strategy team drives lean enablement and implementations, technology and data interoperability and financial oversight and strategy.

Position Summary

Leveraging program management tools and methodologies, including PG&E’s performance system and Lean Playbook, this position will assist in the development, alignment and deployment of Law’s True North Strategy (TNS). The successful candidate will help identify and prioritize the various legal processes to pursue value stream mapping and process improvement efforts. Through a process maturity structure, the successful candidate will work with process owners to review and enhance processes and identify stakeholders and documentation to ensure sustainability and standard work. The Law TNS will encompass a five-year strategy incorporating all law processes, financial planning, technology and staffing requirements, and support resources. This will be a collaborative effort ensuring that the PG&E Performance Playbooks (PSEMS, Lean, and Breakthrough) are integrated with our long-term planning efforts for the Law organization. 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000
Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead multiple value stream projects and drive identification of problem statements
•    Build process maps and work through handoff delays identifying opportunities to improve efficiency  
•    Perform SIPOC and stakeholder evaluations
•    Enhance lean visuals and drive problem-solving efforts cross-functionally to drive positive outcomes
•    Drive enterprise initiatives resulting in performance improvement and shared success
•    Anticipate issues and develop innovative solutions
•    Coach and mentor coworkers to perform Value Stream work to achieve process maturity

Qualifications

Minimum:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•    Job-related experience, 8 years


Desired
•    Highly skilled at leading project team
•    Skilled in preparing dashboards and PowerPoint presentations, and using Visio and Microsoft Excel
•    Formal experience in Lean
•    Understand PG&E’s Lean Management System and how to connect such to the day-to-day work, including the culture of PG&E
•    Experience deploying the core lean tools
•    Ability to role model lean behaviors and mindsets
•    Experience with change management 
•    Ability to operate with can-do mindset and positivity to influence others (including leaders) and drive impact
•    Competency in planning and prioritizing work, drive projects end to end
