Department Overview
Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
A Scheduler in Training is an entry level classification represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and issubject to collective bargaining. A Scheduler-in-Training will progress to the Scheduler classification after twelve months of service. The individual is responsible for scheduling resources/work for Field Metering functions throughout PG&E's service territory.
An employee who schedules work and resources using technology that will enable the matching of work to available resources for electric distribution, Field Metering. The schedule resides in ABB (FAS) and will generally be in a 30 day window to ensure the focus to meet and guarantee customer and internal PG&E requirements.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $56.29 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and review work requests and develop a schedule based on priority, work type, resource availability and optimization opportunities
- Review scheduled work requests for needed resources
- Assign resources to work requests (including design, field work, and emergencies) while ensuring high priority commitments are met first
- Ensure that resources are available to meet customer appointments
- Work with Field Metering Planner as well as the field to resolve discrepancies with work requests and available resources
- Update the Daily Work Plan with resource availability or exceptions
- Coordinate with Field Metering Planners to ensure the work plan are accurately updated to reflect changes due to unplanned work (differences between the forecasted work and actual work available to be scheduled)
- Track work orders to completion, taking appropriate corrective action for work not completed as scheduled
- Manage daily exceptions and make modifications to the schedule based on feedback from the Field Metering team.
- Document and track resource movement
- Partner with our Field co-workers to ensure all needs are meet to meet customer commitments and compliance items
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of Company's Customer Service Policies and gas and electric system
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
- Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime (scheduled or ad hoc)
Desired Qualifications:
- Workforce Availability
- 1 year experience with scheduling
- Experience in Gas or Electric utility
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products- Excel, Outlook and Word
- Current or previous PG&E employee
- Current or previous Hiring Hall employee
- Ability to multi-task and work with different people
- To better represent the communities, we serve within a timely manner, applicants who live within 50 miles of the headquarter location will be given preference
