Department Overview: The Enterprise Protection Data and Analytics Business Intelligence & Operations (EPD&A BIO) team is part of Information Technology’s Enterprise Protection Data and Analytics organization that manages the business operations for Cybersecurity, Corporate Security Enterprise Data Management (EDM), Data Science (DS) and Data Analytics and Insights functions within PG&E.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the EPD&A BIO Business Analyst (BA) will manage various governance & control processes for the EPD&A organization leveraging PowerBI and provide Financial Planning and Analysis Support (FPA) to Enterprise Data Management/Data Science teams. This role will develop metrics and reporting capabilities utilizing PowerBI and  be responsible for various FP&A tasks, such as monthly reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and budgeting.

This role is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison to the teams in which they will support. The position is a hybrid role, defined as 0-3 days in office or as business needs require. This position will need to be located within the PG&E service territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum:  $82,000

Bay Area Maximum: $126,000    

Job Responsibilities

Business Analysis:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the PowerBI Dashboard for the organization.
  • Responsible for FP&A and Reporting for the assigned department, which includes monthly variance analysis, forecasting and metrics & reporting.
  • Responsible for annual operating planning process
  • Responsible for resource planning for project and baseline activities utilizing headcount and contractor management governance.
  • Assistance in streamlining operational processes and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting or other relevant discipline or 4 years of equivalent job-related experience
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Proficient with PowerBI report creation and troubleshooting

Desired:

  • 2+ years of experience in similar or related job functions (Information Technology or Business)
  • The ability to think in terms of a strategy; to abstract from detail of daily tasks to a long-term plan and vision.
  • Uses expertise to counsel or guide individuals in problem resolution; participates in research and analysis.
  • Working experience in the Utility industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Detail oriented, analytical, good oral and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of the utility business and at least one functional area of the related Functional Areas.
  • Able to work independently and support others within the group to persuade, exchange ideas and foster cooperation.
  • Ability to collaborate with different teams across disciplines and levels.
