Department Overview

The Materials Distribution Operations (MDO) department and its 370 employees is responsible for the day-to-day operation and execution of PG&E’s materials distribution network throughout its 70,000 square mile service territory.  Through its four materials distribution centers and over 100 field locations, MDO manages a $700 million inventory and $560 million in annual goods issues.  MDO’s management and delivery of materials and supplies is critical to PG&E’s ability to provide safe and reliable electric and gas service.

Position Summary

Business Process Analysts evaluate the effectiveness of, and recommend improvements to, business process, practice, and procedures. Business process related activities are focused on measuring and improving quality, cost effectiveness, efficiency, customer satisfaction and other desired business outcomes and strategic business decisions. 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

Pay Range display: 

Bay Area – $114,000 to $162,800

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for ESD Materials SharePoint and Teams sites – managing permissions, content structure, and design with a focus on usability.
  • Collaborate with team members to build intuitive navigation and organize resources in a way that supports daily operations.
  • Conducts cross-functional meetings, as needed, to interview a designated group of users (focus groups) to understand and address needs, define problems, appropriate solution requirements, develop specifications, analyze and document business processes, review training material for the user community and define future direction.
  • May lead projects, determine scope, budget, timeframes, form teams, assign tasks, manage resources and issues.
  • Develops / delivers end-to-end process training materials to better support MDO business needs.
  • May provide guidance to Operations Performance Managers.
  • Performs root cause analysis on complex processes that requires customized reports and data.
  • Develops new or revises existing data analysis to predict business outcomes selecting from various complex variables.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 6 years

Desired:

  • Proficient in SharePoint site configuration, permissions management, and content organization with a strong understanding of SharePoint Online best practices for permissions management, document libraries, and end-user experience.
  • Skilled in supporting non-technical users, creating guidance, and promoting effective SharePoint usage within a department or workgroup.
  • Project management experience
  • Can travel 20 – 25%
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Broad knowledge of different qualitative and quantitative analytical methods, approaches and tactics.
  • Advanced understanding of root cause analysis and process improvement concepts, methods and techniques. Creative problem-solving skills to develop process solutions.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills to justify process changes.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key process drivers affecting business results.
  • Strong project management knowledge and skills to lead project teams.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software.
