Project Overview
Propel is a PG&E program that will lead our migration to the new version of SAP: S/4 HANA. The transition from our current version of SAP, set to expire in 2027, provides a unique opportunity to standardize end-to-end processes, clean our technology core, and enable modernization and innovation across the company. The scope of the project includes our business processes across finance, work and asset management, supply chain, and human resources.
For Finance, in scope are our Record to Report and Forecast to Plan major processes where we are looking to build future processes by streamlining, automating, and integrating end-to-end processes not only across Finance, but across all other relevant areas such as work and asset management, supply chain, and human resources.
Currently, we recently began the Enterprise Design phase (an integrated and coordinated design pahse that works across all areas of scope listed above) where we will create a process-driven, detailed outline of how S/4HANA will look across PG&E's business and application landscape. Following the Enterprise Design phase, we plan to launch Propel in four scheduled releases. This staged approach will allow us to learn from each release and make improvements. The specific order we're following will help us minimize business risk and day-to-day coworker impacts.
