Department Overview
PG&E's Business Finance and Planning team provides critical financial support to its operational business partners within the company. This support includes: financial analysis, budgeting, planning and forecasting; monitoring, controlling and accounting; operational performance reporting and analysis; and strategic planning and analysis. These services are critical to achieving the company's strategic, operational and financial objectives.
The Business Finance and Planning department provides a unique environment for energized and talented finance professionals to engage in the business as valued functional advisors, make meaningful contributions to the direction of a dynamic business, and be actively developed and recognized.
This role will be within the Business Finance and Planning team supporting the Corporate Services organizations-General Counsel, Ethics, Risk, and Compliance and Finance organizations.
Client Organization
The successful candidate will support the General Counsel, Ethics, and Compliance and Finance organizations. The Law Department provides high-quality, cost-effective legal support to solve problems, meet business objects, identify and mitigate risks, strengthen compliance and improve the company. The Ethics & Compliance teams promote a culture that enables employees to act with integrity, speak up to raise concerns, manage records and information, and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. The Finance Department iscomprised of diverse individuals and teams including Audit and Risk, Controller, Corporate Development and Economic & Project Analytics, Finance and Planning, Investor Relations, and Treasury teams.
Position Summary
In this highly visible role, the successful candidate will provide financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc support for the General Counsel, Ethics, Risk, and Compliance and Finance organizations. As a front-line business partner, you will have the opportunity to work with various department levels within the Client organization and make a meaningful contribution to both their operational and financial goals. In summary, the successful candidate will balance and utilize their functional expertise, intellectual curiosity, ethics, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain integrative relationships and ensure best in-class decision support and recommendation.
The position will report directly to the Business Finance Supervisor and work alongside a dedicated team of individuals supporting the rest of the Corporate Service organizations.
The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office based on business needs and company requirements.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000
Job Responsibilities
- Reporting & Analysis (Historical): Analyze and prepare client monthly financial results and reports and brief Business Finance Supervisor and Director on key cost drivers and other issues.
- Reporting & Analysis (Historical): Develop and produce standard ad hoc reports and analytical tools to ensure accurate and consistent representation of financial and operational performance.
- Forecasting (Short-Term): Provide timely, balanced forward looking financial assessments that capture current performance and enable nimble, value optimized operational and financial decisions.
- Planning (Long -term): Ensure the timely and accurate completion of the following major financial management endeavors: Multi-year planning including regulatory planning and Year-end Planning.
- Regulatory: Provide financial support for client's regulatory proceedings and assist in financial planning for operational responses to CPUC decisions.
- Process Optimization: Drive financial accountability and financial performance management within the client organization.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience
