Department Overview
PG&E is constantly looking for ways to unlock customer value by simplifying the way we work together.  Enterprise Business Processes is a cross-functional organization that is leading PG&E’s Propel and Elevate programs, two major business and technology modernization programs focused on just that. Propel will migrate PG&E to the new version of SAP, S/4HANA, seizing this unique opportunity for PG&E to standardize business processes, clean the technology core, and enable innovation for breakthrough change across departments. Similarly, Elevate is PG&E’s enterprise-wide program to modernize and standardize the geographic information systems, or GIS, across the company. Enterprise Business Processes is comprised of multi-disciplinary coworkers with deep functional and industry expertise to design and implement end-to-end business process and technology solutions following industry leading practices. The team partners closely with IT and external partners to work collaboratively with many stakeholders to adopt standard processes and maximize use of out-of-the-box proven technology solutions to meet business needs. Position Summary
This Communications Expert position will provide critical support to drive communications within the Organizational Readiness (OR) team, specifically focused on crafting and coordinating materials related to the rollout of Propel and Elevate – two strategic transformational initiatives rolling out across the organization. OR is responsible for all aspects of change management for the Propel program, including communication & engagement, training, and business readiness. 


This role reports into the Head of Communications and Engagement and will be responsible for creating and distributing content across various channels, managing communication campaigns, and fostering relationships with stakeholders across departments.  The goal of the Communications and Engagement team is to craft clear, concise messages and deliver these messages in a consistent drumbeat so that all PG&E coworkers are fully aware of the new initiatives.  The Communications expert role will be pivotal to the success and ensuring that each phase of the Propel and Elevate milestones are communicated effectively. 


This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be Oakland General Office (OGO). General expectations for working days in OGO are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week. There may be occasional reporting to alternate work locations, such as San Ramon, based on business need. 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill beplaced between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

A reasonable salary range is:   

Bay Area Minimum:      $122,000        

Bay Area Maximum:     $194,000 

Reporting Relationship
Reports into the Director, Communications and Engagement 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in crafting compelling narratives to highlight the value of Propel and Elevate and effectively promote key milestones of the initiatives. 
  • Ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging across all internal communication channels.   
  • Develop, improve, standardize, and manage communication workflows to ensure consistent execution and alignment with leadership expectations. 
  • Own key communication channels, including creating content for department newsletters and updates in company-wide correspondence. 
  • Manage content across the company’s corporate intranet; regularly update and improve Propel and Elevate within the Sharepoint presence. 
  • Maintain projects in JIRA and help keep teams on track with deliverables.  
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications using relevant KPIs. 
  • Collaborate with various teams within the organization to ensure consistent messaging.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in employee communications, change management communications, or public relations. 

Desired: 

  • Master's Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience. 
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification. 
  • Experience in helping drive change management initiatives within organizations. 
  • Experience working in public utility and energy industries. 
  • Ability to easily translate technology-speak into everyday language. 
  • Experience advising senior leadership on internal comms and engagement and partnering with them to influence, provide counsel and communications support. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Experience working across multiple departments within an organization and with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Advanced technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
