Department Overview

Information Systems Technology Services is a unified organization comprised of various departments which collaborate effectively in order to deliver high quality technology solutions.

Position Summary

Designs, develops, modifies, configures, debugs and evaluates application programs for functional business areas. Analyzes existing applications and systems and formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, logical database design, performs coding and tests/debugs programs. Consults with business analysts and architects to understand, anticipate, and meet current and future business needs. Modifies and configures applications/systems as specified in the requirements and/or technical design document. Prepares and obtains approval of system and development documentation.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $129,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $207,000.00

&/OR​

California Minimum: $123,000.00

California Maximum: $197,000.00

Job Responsibilities

Creative Problem-Solving: Apply innovative approaches to technically complex assignments, often leading teams on challenging projects.

Technical Leadership: Serve as a key technical resource, specializing in cross-functional technological expertise, including MuleSoft, AWS, and Contact Center applications such as Cisco Cloud, PolyAI IVR, Calabrio, Alvaria, and Cisco Portal.

MuleSoft Observability: Ensure all MuleSoft APIs are well-monitored using tools like Dynatrace and Datadog. Proactively identify performance issues, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement to maintain high system reliability.

Hybrid Deployment Expertise: Work on MuleSoft Cloud and on-premises hybrid deployments, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency across both environments.

Collaboration: Represent the team and/or manager in client meetings. Work closely with Project Managers to define timelines, identify critical paths, allocate resources, and manage risks.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve complex application development challenges through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Strategic Initiatives: Drive major initiatives such as transitioning to new technologies, implementing observability best practices, and optimizing integration performance.

Framework Governance: Establish and maintain application development frameworks, coding standards, and monitoring protocols to ensure quality, consistency, and high availability.

Technical Expertise: Translate complex business requirements into functional and technical designs, leveraging a deep understanding of MuleSoft integration patterns, AWS cloud services, Contact Center applications, and observability tools like Dynatrace and Datadog. 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in programming analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages

Desired:

  • Graduate Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with MuleSoft integration development and APIs
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, and networking
  • Knowledge and experience with Contact Center applications such as Cisco Cloud, PolyAI IVR, Calabrio, Alvaria, Cisco Portal, or similar systems
  • Experience with Dynatrace and Datadog for application monitoring and observability
  • Familiarity with MuleSoft hybrid deployments using Cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Proven leadership experience with development teams.
  • Strong understanding of integration frameworks, cloud architecture, and Contact Center technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient solutions using MuleSoft and AWS.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven IVR systems (e.g., PolyAI) and workforce management tools (e.g., Calabrio or Alvaria).
  • Expertise in implementing observability best practices, including automated monitoring, alerting, and reporting with tools like Dynatrace and Datadog.
