Enterprise Business & Technology Modernization is a cross-functional organization leading PG&E’s Propel and Elevate programs, a major business and technology modernization initiative designed to unlock customer value by simplifying collaborative work processes. Position Summary
Provide GIS and database support for the implementation of GIS products including requirements gathering, testing, and deployment tasks. Responds to technical issues and requests for enhancing technology. Leads and/or supports the business through familiarity with processes and understanding compliance drivers.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA approximately 1 - 3 days per week, or more, based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area: $102,000 - 145,200
Job Responsibilities
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Provide advanced user support and data integration.
- Support advanced enterprise GIS data modeling and data capture initiatives, develop and review software functionality requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other work groups and vendors, troubleshoot issues, produce technical communication.
- Lead special projects related to GIS.
- Create and update metadata and catalog GIS layers, including documenting workflow procedures for staff using GIS, both in the office and in the field.
- Demonstrate by personal action a 100% commitment to employee and public safety.
- Develop and perform advanced data gathering, data integration, and quality control procedures for geospatial data, interface with data source systems to resolve complex issues; estimate impact of data issues to compliance and business commitments.
- Identify user quality control, support and data integration process improvement opportunities, gather input and agreement on new requirements and lead implementation, communication and training around process revisions/changes.
- Support efforts related to the preparation of annual reports to FERC, (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), SEC (Security and Exchange Commission), OPS (Office of Pipeline Safety) and CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission).
- Lead GIS software, hardware and database projects and initiatives.
- Lead projects and efforts related to opportunities for improvement in the way work is done, share expertise and lessons learned
- Accurately identify Safety Critical Elements.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with GIS-Geographic Information System, ArcGIS, 5 years
- Utility industry experience, 3 years
Desired:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in project management
- Experience in data modeling
- Experience in risk management
- GISP-Geographic Information Systems Professional certification
