Department Overview
The CFO Chief of Staff (COS) Office is responsible for the smooth operation and execution of Finance department activities. Combined with the Finance True North Project Management Office (FTN PMO) this joint office is also responsible for Finance’s transformation journey. In addition to ensuring the successful execution of projects related to core Finance functions such as financial reporting, accounting close, and more, the CFO COS/FTN Office is responsible for the improvement of Finance’s foundational capabilities overall and supporting the culture shift along the way.
Position Summary
The Principal Program Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, performance measurement, and continuous improvement of business management processes for Finance including but not limited to CFO operating reviews.
In this role you will collaborate closely with the CFO and the Finance leadership team to ensure that key financial metrics are on track and Finance is engaged in enterprise initiatives across the Company. This role will also be a key driver in Finance’s maturity of the performance playbook: Lean, Breakthrough, and PSEMS.
The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 1-2x weekly or based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, performance measurement, and continuous improvement of strategic planning and business management processes for Finance including but not limited to CFO operating reviews.
- Monitors and ensures all strategic planning and business management processes and deliverables for Finance are aligned with PG&E’s mission and vision.
- Collaborates with various officers and other leaders to develop and review budgetary requirements and support the achievement of waste elimination goals.
- Creates and executes upon a business plan for active maturity of Finance’s adoption of lean, breakthrough, and PSEMS
- Composes, designs, and prepares various correspondence, presentations, communications, reports, documents, and other materials for CFO or Finance
- Researches, analyzes, and responds to various inquiries and issues and develops recommendations to support decision making actions.
- May lead or participate within key special projects
- May represent the leader at various meetings and/or activities
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years of related work experience
Highly Desired:
- Portfolio management or project management experience with integration of diverse projects and stakeholders
- Experience with lean, visual management, and time architecture
- Ability to simplify and reduce issues to their fundamental causes
- High degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills– including ability to interact, collaborate, and influence at the executive level
- Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to plan and balance multiple priorities at once
- Ability to work effectively with senior staff members and executive leadership
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong skills in project management, benchmarking, and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated knowledge of PG&E business
- Demonstrated ability to navigate large, complex organizations and achieve results
