Department Overview
The Information & Records Governance (IRG) organization is an enterprise-wide program advancing the information and records management maturity of the company and Functional Areas (FA) through implementation of compliant, efficient, and systematic controls for the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposition of information and records.
IRG is responsible for transforming PG&E’s information and records management practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, reduce risk, and promote safe and effective business operations. IRG is responsible for policy, strategy, and guidance for information and records assets, and for monitoring compliance and supporting development of consistent and integrated processes that promote the responsible management of the information lifecycle to further PG&E’s immediate and future regulatory, legal, and operational requirements.
Position Summary
The Principal Program Manager will report to the Director, Information & Records Governance, and will lead and manage major cross-functional projects and technological initiatives driving governance and alignment in PG&E systems and processes. The role provides program strategy and management and change leadership focusing on bridging cross-functional objectives to ensure standards and processes are aligned, particularly around retention, disposition, and compliance of data and information.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of and experience with information governance and data management concepts and techniques, as well as knowledge of information governance maturity best practices. In that capacity, the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to help align cross-functional workstreams and optimize information and data management practices across the enterprise, creating efficiencies and ultimately improving the quality and reliability of our information and data.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs or company requirements. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint <$Min - $Mid of the range>. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area Min: $144,000
Bay Area Mid: $194,000
Bay Area Max: $244,000
Job Responsibilities
- Manages major cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Leads collaborative efforts to align information and data governance workstreams
- Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions
- Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals
- Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program
- Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals
- Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership to influence information and data strategies impacting PG&E and its customers
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in any of Management, Technology, Business, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- 10 or more years of experience in information governance, data management, IT or related field
Desired
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in utility operations.
- Certification in information governance/records management or data management.
- Knowledge of records management, information governance and/or data management.
- Strong communication skills for all levels of organization, both verbal and in writing.
- Project management skills.
