Position Summary
The principal role is essential in maintaining the quality and reliability of software systems. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lead to join our Automation & Testing COE Engineering team. You will be accountable for our software quality and trust outcome. The main goal is to provide technical leadership for Energy Systems & Solutions complex projects, ensuring the team's work and supported products meet quality standards.
Be a part of the business transformation re-imagining the way PG&E works. We are collaborating with the SAP team and seeking to recruit an experienced Quality product owner to support PG&E’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) initiative, Propel. This program is dedicated to optimizing and standardizing business processes across work and asset management, supply chain/EHS, finance, and IT functions. We are re-implementing our SAP ECC system and moving our entire SAP Solution top to bottom to new SAP S4/HANA. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience with the SAP system, as well as a strong understanding of its dependencies and how solutions integrate with PG&E’s wider application ecosystem and external systems. From the vision, the Product Owner creates well-defined user stories, prioritizes them by mapping to the RTM, and provides a clear timeline for the product to align the test strategy with the test approach. The Principal Product Owner focuses on enhancing the end-user experience and will design and implement an enterprise test strategy to continuously improve our use of quality principals and best practices. They are responsible for establishing quality standards that guide a roadmap to achieve their vision and deliver strong test results. Builds and maintains relationships that allow the Product Owner to act as the client proxy. Proficient in Power BI and Power Automate for creating comprehensive reports and automation.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Pay range is: $147,000.00 - $218,900.00
Job Responsibilities
- Identifies the developmental needs of others, and coaches and mentors’ others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Identifies the appropriate customer audience, their preferred communication channels, and potential customer response benchmarks.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to support integration test with SAP and non-SAP applications to meet business objectives. Develop integration strategies and oversee the implementation of software quality implementation.
- Strong ability to navigate and create successful relationships across diverse organization at all levels of leadership.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and methodologies, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Leads complex or major projects. Develops implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new technology and/or tools
- Product owner, owning the governance, standards, intake and provide technical expertise to lead and manage performance and test automation framework
- Analyzes work plan and schedules to reallocate resources or reprioritize program work.
- Track performance on multi-spectrum of Project Quality KPIs across all key initiatives and programs
- Ensure the team is focused on achieving quality outcomes and guiding towards success.
- You will help teams inspect, adapt, deliver, and mature. Standardize test data and environments, leveraging technology to enhance quality assurance and transform it into a leading innovation hub for enterprise next-gen Testing COE-ready platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- 7 years job-related experience
Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in Agile environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong presentation: Create and maintain slides deck for executive meetings. Report results and progress weekly.
- Experience with Power BI to build operating reports and key performance indicators. Support centralized standardization of all metrics, modeling, and data visualization across automation teams
- Strong business understanding and advanced expertise in many functional areas and/or systems for the business unit(s) supported. Ability to create and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure full test coverage.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, including database querying.
- Self-starter takes initiative to drive continuous improvement and excellence and can work independently.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience applying software quality methodologies within many development teams.
