Position Summary
The Senior Director, Commercial Solutions Sales will lead the growth sales team, develop strategic sales plans, and drive revenue growth in PG&E’s large load and commercial sector. The Senior Director will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the sales team meets its goals.
In addition to leading the sales team, the Senior Director will work closely with other departments to align sales strategies with overall company objectives. This includes collaborating with the marketing team to develop effective promotional campaigns, working with the products and pricing team to ensure our offerings meet market demands, and providing insights to senior management to inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the energy sector, with a focus on large load interconnection processes, complex commercial arrangements, and creative energy solutions, and will be adept at navigating the complexities of this rapidly evolving industry.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations with customers.
- Negotiate, manage and deliver upon customized agreements with customers, including local governments, to achieve their energy and economic development goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the energy sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing and product development teams to align sales efforts with company initiatives.
- Join together with project execution and delivery teams to drive outstanding results for customers, delivering on our commitments and ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
- Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Background Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- 10 years of related work experience, in the energy sector or related, including significant experience working with customers
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.

- Master’s degree highly desired
- Leadership role within the energy sector
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the energy market, including utility interconnection, load management and engineering / energy efficiency solutions.

- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle ($280,000 - $290,000) of the range of this role, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This leadership role is also eligible for an annual Short Term Incentive Plan (STIP) and Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP).
Reasonable Salary Range (Bay Area): $220,000 - $327,000
