Department Overview
The Compliance Strategic Initiatives team drives priority projects for PG&E’s Electric Risk and Compliance organization, promoting both compliance and effective performance across the organization. The team drives strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects that advance the compliance organization’s goals and enhance enterprise coordination, fostering a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
The Compliance Strategic Initiatives intern will play a pivotal role in enhancing and streamlining processes. This role will support the team by developing proposals and implementing strategies to strengthen Electric’s compliance program, including evaluating technology-focused tools to improve program efficiency and effectiveness and revising compliance-specific policies and standards.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.88 to $36.42.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, and/or Information Systems
- MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship
Desired:
- 3.7 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project/change management, and communication skills
- Familiarity with identifying, documenting, and/or testing controls, compliance data systems, and evidence management best practices
- Ability to influence others to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to act
- Highly flexible, self-directed, and able to adapt well to a rapidly changing environment
- Interest in electric utilities, risk, or regulated environments
- Knowledge of concepts, best practices, tools, techniques, and strategies related to conducting investigations as needed to perform at the job level
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
