Department Overview
Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary
Position headquartered in San Francisco; on-site daily.
The Electric Operations Distribution Maintenance and Construction leadership manages teams directly or indirectly involved in maintaining or building parts of the service territory distribution grid. Supervisors and Superintendents may oversee teams working projects throughout the services territory. The Distribution leaders provide safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Orders, all safety regulations and other regulatory requirements. The leaders fully implement safety best practices and manage employee’s accountability. Leaders must ensure full compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $129,000
Bay Area Maximum: $207,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $123,000
California Maximum: $197,000
Responsibilities:

·Regularly visits work sites (at least 50% of time) to monitor progressand employeeperformance.
·Ensures the customers' needs and expectations are met. Providesclear, professional, and proactive communication with customers in a variety of fieldsituations.
·Ensures maintenance and construction work is completed safely, on time, and withinbudget and qualityexpectations.
·Completes and maintains allwork documentation orreporting.
·Identifies and reacts to complexfield decisions, utilizing technical knowledge and experience to move forward quickly, consideringcost, risk, safety, quality, and customer impact.
·Effectively utilizes resourcesby monitoring crewproductivity.
·Builds constructive peerrelationships and treats direct reports equitably. Provides positive and constructive feedback toothers.
·Responds to emergencies and outages. May serve as a field leader (e.g. District Storm Room Lead,Task Force Lead) in OEC/EOC major emergencyactivations.
- Supervises staff, including bargaining unit employees, to accomplish results through recruitment and selection,training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High-School Diploma orGED
·Must obtain a California Class C Driver’s License (or equivalent) by first day of employment
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, field maintenance operations, orrelated electric utilityexperience
Desired Qualifications:
·Travels at least 10% - 50% of time with occasional overnightstays
·Mustbeabletotravelandworkaflexibleschedule, includingbeing oncallaswellasrespondingto emergenciesthat may occurthroughoutourserviceterritory
- May work outside in remote areas, steep and/or uneven terrain, and inclement weatherconditions.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degreein Engineering, Construction Management, or other relatedfield
- Previous experience in the electric utility industry. Journeymanlineman experiencepreferred
- Knowledge of the California Public Utility Commission GeneralOrders (GO) 95, 128,165
·Project management skills. T-300 Supervisors must have strongproject management skills to oversee larger constructionprojects.
·General computer skills inWord, Excel andOutlook.
·Customer services orientation, including communicationskills, initiative and problemsolving.
·Knowledge of various bargaining unit contracts.
·Demonstrated ability to upholdsafety standards and participate in continuous processimprovement
·Experience leading cross-functional teams and/or supervisingbargaining unitpersonnel
