Department Overview
Engineering, Planning & Strategy will play a leading role in showing California and the world how PG&E will meet California’s decarbonization and resilience goals while improving safety, affordability and reliability. EP&S will have asset management responsibilities for our gas system and electric infrastructure, and will integrate inputs from across the enterprise to define our multi-year capital plan. EP&S will enable our coworkers on the front lines to have the plans, tools, and equipment they need, so we can do the right work at the right time.
Position Summary
Oversees the multi-year work plan for a Line of Business (LoB) and partners with internal departments to develop the Strategy Plan (S2), ensuring work and resource plans align with the budget plan (S1) request and link appropriately to the regulatory recovery process. Monitors the execution of work plan. Collaborates with LoB Business Finance team to monitor and reallocate budget between the various programs and maintain an overall view of budget performance.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.
This position requires a minimum of 25% travel with occasional overnight stays throughout the service territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $122,000
Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

California Minimum: $116,000
California Maximum: $184,000
Job Responsibilities
- Leads schedulers to develop a prioritized and optimized quarterly work plan and develop weekly schedules to align with work plan
- Oversees schedulers
- Oversees the evaluation of work plan resources, costs and schedules.
- Reviews the evaluations of the
associated costs and resources needed to execute work plans.
- Monitors work progression from
initiation through construction readiness.
- Develops analysis and recommendations to optimize work plan execution
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 5 years of relevant operations experience with steady progression of responsibilities.
- Ability to work flexible schedule
Desired:
- Three or more years of Leadership experience
- Experience in scheduling
- Familiarity with various scheduling tools
- Ability to review complex project dependability and create streamline schedule
- Ability to monitor, gather and analyze information, to determine potential impacts, and recommend responses to challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences
- Background in Operations, System Protection, Project Delivery, Testing Protection and Control Systems, and Substation
- Competency in knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products as needed to perform at the job level.
- Skill in leading and facilitating discussions and meetings.
- Competency in making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Understanding of database structures and incorporate design enhancements.
- Experience in an electric utility substation environment with five or more years of experience in calibrating, installing, and in-service testing of relay systems.
- Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW), Electrical Technician certification, Human Factor Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) associate certificate, certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma certified
