Job Summary
The Senior analyst will provide support to advance security risk reduction across the Enterprise. This position will work closely with internal leaders and subject matter experts while interacting with other stakeholders across the Company to build visuals, dashboards and other products to support security program
Conducts analysis on variances, forecasts and risk reduction trends. Monitors and reports on operational, productivity and efficiency metrics and scorecards. Works closely with our enterprise risk team and collaborates with them on how to quantify and present risk reduction.
Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining risk reduction playbook, forms, standards, procedures and other program documents, preparing reports, developing and maintaining performance metrics, and conducting self-assessments.

The Senior Analyst should have strong interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, and proactive. The candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to present information in a clear, concise and persuasive manner. The candidate is expected to develop critical analysis and validate forecasts.
This role is hybrid, working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 2-3 days per week currently. Occasionally, your presence to other Bay Area locations may be required.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $109,000
Bay Area Maximum: $175,000
Job Responsibilities
- Develop metrics, balanced scorecards, dashboards, performance analytics, and playbooks.
- Prepare complex data analysis from initial request to presenting data results.
- Provides insights into operational results and strategic advice to senior leadership as needed.
- Collaborates and maintains a strong working relationship with security teams, IT Risk and Compliance and all other strategic, cross-functional co-workers.
- Develop and update internal products and communicate clear and concise analytical insights.
- Gather data from different sources and understand the effectiveness and accuracy of the data extracts.
- Provides recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes.
- Develop and assist with training our business partners.
- Develop effective presentation materials for leadership to make decisions or bring awareness to key issues.
- Assist with the production of the projects and operating review materials.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Econometrics or Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or equivalent field.
- 6 years of job-related experience
Skills and Abilities :
- Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed on-time.
- Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences. Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
- Manages complex data extracts and list pulls ensuring data accuracy. Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
- Creates complex automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
- Demonstrates and utilizes advanced knowledge of data processing and data analysis techniques.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks independently
- Good communications and presentation skills to deliver findings and make recommendations to stakeholders
- Project management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Power BI
- Experience with Power Automate, PowerApps, and SharePoint sites
- Excellent research and issue resolution skills
- Experience of different analytical methods, approaches, and tactics
- Ability to develop dashboards to insights on portfolio/ projects and programs performance.
- Demonstrated follow-up tenacity with cross-functional contributors
- Demonstrated history of being proactive, self-leading and producing significant, high-quality deliverables
- Applies understanding of business intelligence best practices, terminology, and KPIs to drive better business decisions.
