Department Overview:
EPD&A Business Operations provides essential front office and business capability to the Enterprise Protection, Data, and Analytics teams through coordination of the EPD&A True North Strategy, financial and resource planning and stewardship, delivery of programs and projects, and vendor management.
Our Purpose: Enable the True North Strategy for EPD&A organizations to maximize effectiveness of available resources and delivery of capabilities.

The delivery wing of EPD&A Business Operations is responsible for execution of Programs and Projects for all Security projects (Corporate Security and Cyber Security) at PG&E and aligned with the strategic roadmap for Enterprise Protection.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Principal IT Project Manager to lead projects and programs within our Corporate Security Portfolio Delivery team. This Role will be required to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into specific and actionable projects and programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects and programs under his/her purview are executed effectively, efficiently and in compliance with PG&E, IT, and EPD&A PMO standards. This role works in partnership with stakeholders to execute physical security projects, deploying technology standards and executing technology project and program delivery per standards. Acts as a thought leader, execution leader, collaborator, and information source to support team members and projects with an emphasis on ensuring that physical security products and solution meet functional needs. Technology projects most often include a field component, such as access controls and video, which are deployed across PG&E’s vast service area. The selected candidate should be able to function effectively in a process-oriented environment with multiple stakeholders and gain consensus.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management of projects and programs within Corporate Security. Projects can be small to large and vary in complexity. Programs and projects have defined start and end dates, a specific scope of work, a budget, required resources, and a specified performance objective to be achieved. Programs and projects can be short duration or span multiple years. Specific responsibilities include:
- Successfully lead programs, regional projects or individual projects ranging in value from $20k to $5Mil
- Managing the full lifecycle of programs and programs, to include complying with required deliverables
- Overseeing the work of other project team members and contractors / vendors
- Defining, gathering, and documenting program and project requirements
- Leveraging existing standards, and industry best practices to meet protection and project requirements
- Writing clear, concise Statements of Work (SOWs) for Vendors
- Clearly defining roles, ownership, and obtaining commitment for deliverables across multiple work groups and Vendors
- Providing direction and leadership to other vendors and internal team members
- Conducting site walk-downs and project kick-off meetings
- Developing metrics, procedures, objectives and methods to assess project progress and meet quality objectives
- Ensuring all project team members have the tools and training necessary to perform effectively
- Recording, tracking and communicating issues, risks, changes, and status reports within PG&E project management tools and templates
- Accurately and consistently forecasting project resource, material and contract costs within PG&E financial tools and templates
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and devise contingency plans
- Developing and Maintaining up-to-date detailed project schedules and work plans
- Coordinating and managing contractor safety requirements
- Communicating status to stakeholders and leaders
- Developing and maintaining a productive working relationship with Leaders, Team members, Sponsors, and Vendors
- Preparing all project documentation for closure, storage, and possible auditing activities, ensuring technical accuracy and in accordance with procedures
Minimum Education:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Minimum
- 10 years of experience managing one or more moderately complex program and/or project collections
- Experience with installation and service agreements and materials logistics
- Desired:
- Supervisory experience in managing team of 3 or more, including project managers, analysts, vendors or technical resources
- Experience working in the physical security domain – ideally as a field engineer, program or project manager
- Experience working in a PMO environment as Project Lead or Project Manager for highly complex projects
License/ Certification Minimum
- Desired:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI
- ASIS Certified Protection Specialist (CPP) or Equivalent
- ASIS Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP)
Minimum SKAs:
- Minimum
- Advanced understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Advanced knowledge and technical competence in physical security and/or computer system
- General understanding of distributed control systems and low voltage and/or construction standards
- Skilled in using the following programs – Excel, Word, Visio, other office tools
- Workforce planning and resource management skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills
- Financial Acumen and experience with estimation and forecasting
- Proficiency in negotiation and project scope and risk management

- Low-voltage design or installation skills or background
- Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and other drawing tools
