Department Overview
Enterprise Business & Technology Modernization is a cross-functional organization leading PG&E’s Propel program, a major business and technology modernization initiative designed to unlock customer value by simplifying collaborative work processes. Propel will migrate PG&E to the new version of SAP, S/4HANA, presenting a unique opportunity for PG&E to standardize business processes, clean the technology core, and enable innovation for breakthrough change across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Through a phased approach, Propel will implement process standardization, operating model changes, data improvements, SAP, and other technology applications with a focus on incrementally improving business capabilities and delivering value.

Position Summary
The S2P Business Strategy, Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in PG&E’s Propel program, leading the implementation of key supply chain initiatives as part of our broader business and technology modernization efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain processes, project management expertise, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of end-to-end Source to Pay solutions, ensuring alignment with Propel’s goals of standardizing business processes, enhancing data quality, and enabling technological innovation
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $155,000
Bay Area Maximum: $265,000
Reporting Relationship
The S2P Business Strategy, Senior Manager will report to the Director of Propel.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborates with subject matter experts across the Company to develop and manage the execution plans for key strategic initiatives.
- Manages the Supply Chain Source to Pay workstream as part of the overall Propel strategic program including responsibility for all workstream specific deliverables.
- Engages with Officers of the company, VP’s and Directors/Sr. Directors on complex cross-functional programs
- Partners with the Director to both assist and also drive individual strategies and efforts and assemble cross-matrixed teams from across the organization to effectuate the strategy development and implementation.
- Focuses on the near-term deliverables as well as the longer-term strategy horizon as the energy and utility industry goes through transformative shifts.
- Leads positive change for California, our customers and the utility.
- Leads staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.
- Ensures proper identification and engagement of key subject matter experts.
- Role may include the need to observe, lead and/or facilitate key design workshops to ensure adequate representation and participation to achieve expected deliverables.
Qualifications:
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or comparable quantitative field or equivalent related work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with steady progression of responsibilities
- Demonstrated in–depth experience in more than one of the following: gas transmission and distribution operations, nuclear, power generation, electric transmission and /or distribution, power systems/ information technology, energy procurement, energy efficiency, renewables energy.
Desired:
- Master's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or equivalent quantitative field.
- In depth expertise in SAP Source-to-pay and Ariba solutions and processes.
- Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects and teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Utility, energy or regulatory industry experience.
